      Nobody give a damn about belts. Its an invention for little kids to give them fake convidence. You dont have them in Muay Thai/Kickboxing, Wrestling etc etc. Either you have skill and can fight or you don't. No measurement needed. Islam Makhachev has no belt and dominated a "black belt" in BJJ. That's how much worth these "belts" are

      I mean shit I’ve done it in sparring but I haven’t practiced something like that enough for a fight yet. No one really throws teeps against me anyway most people just go for the slugfest. I’m still at the low amateur level where most fights are just high grade street brawls instead of a high stakes chess match

    • @weakfrontkick
      @weakfrontkick Рік тому

      @@blazer-mp2rq When it comes to front kicks I’ve used low blocks to swoop them away and leg checks to block and I’ve scooped it up with under hooks. I just think a palm heel has just to much margin of error and very little margin for success. I’m not saying it’s impossible to land and I’m not trying to knock on anyone’s skill level I simply don’t think this technique has a high level of success and there are better options.

  • @jamessm4401
    @jamessm4401 Рік тому

    Normally I don’t even switch with the kick, it takes too much time. If you practice a lead leg pop ( orthodox style) with no setup, many people will be caught off guard and take it right to the liver.

    • @GabeGettinRich
      @GabeGettinRich Рік тому

      So many people don’t train the lead leg attacks. I hit everybody I spar with up high after snapping those leg kicks with my lead leg from the southpaw. One of my favorites is when guys adjust to it by switching stances by stepping back, cause I get to smash the inside leg kick on (what was) the back leg or pull the knee to my chest and stab the bellybutton.

    Play sparring better or hard sparring for learning ?

    • @bigguigomis7585
      @bigguigomis7585 Рік тому

      With hard sparring you tend to go to survival mode (hit and don’t get hit), whereas play sparring allows for you to try things from drills and see what works for you. Turns out trial and error is usually how most of us learn and adapt. Hope that helps.

      I doubt whether a slap with the palm can divert a fast frontal and low kick. The opponent in cause kicked "in a friendly manner" and his attack was anticipated. Besides if they had found a brilliant solution they wouldn't have shared it with the whole world.

      @@kristianjensen5877 Feign attacks often preceed the real ones. The simplicity of the solution suggested here is evident. The very kick may be a feign attack to make the opponent lower his hand. To anticipate a frontal kick whenever your opponents knee is lifted is not good for you.
